New Year, New Goals

“What the new year brings to you will depend a great deal on what you bring to the new year.” – Vern McClellan

This time of year always seems to encourage self-reflection and goal-setting, whether it’s losing weight, exercising more, or eating better. But the focus doesn’t have to just be on personal growth. Your brand can also benefit from setting a few New Year’s resolutions! A resolution is most effective when we examine the past as we plan for the future. Most companies are always working to improve their connection with clients, and this is the perfect time to set new goals for your brand and outline steps for achieving them. Here at Neon Canvas, one of our resolutions is to help you succeed with yours. Here are a few suggestions for how we can make that happen!

Update your brand’s assets

Take some time to review your available brand assets to confirm they’re up to date for the coming year. Are there any copyrights that need updating for 2019? Is everyone in your company utilizing the correct logo on all materials? Are your email signatures, business cards, and letterhead uniform? Consistency is the key to presenting your brand as cohesive and confident, so it makes sense to ensure everyone and everything is on the same page for the new year.

Give your website the once-over

Go through the content and imagery on your current site, checking for anything inaccurate or outdated. Double check that employees or clients who are no longer with you aren’t still listed on your website, and check the accuracy of the services you offer, your brand focus, and even items as simple as your contact details and office hours. It’s also helpful to look for more subtle references to time, such as how many years you’ve been in business, or the year associated with your site’s copyright information.

Come up with a plan for posting to social media regularly

As you know, we love using social media platforms to increase brand awareness and foster authentic engagement with your followers. It’s a great tool for supplementing traditional marketing efforts, and using social media consistently and efficiently can make a noticeable difference in how your brand is perceived. However, it’s important to keep in mind that where social media is concerned, quality is more important than quantity.

Taking the time to build a plan for your content – including interesting and engaging posts, campaigns, and contests – will be an effective, inexpensive way to keep your brand in your followers’ timelines and minds. The good news is, this is something our team excels at! We’re always happy to work with you in creating more relatable, engaging content for your social media platforms.

Make a concentrated effort to engage with your followers

In general, customer service tends to be reactive. What if you made yours more proactive? Engage your followers on social media by providing trusted resources, original content, and incentives, and don’t forget to thank them for following you and helping your business hit new milestones! Your followers are usually made up of past, present, and future clients, and each one has their own value. Making a genuine effort to get to know them will often result in better engagement and brand loyalty.

Try something new

There’s no better time to try something new than with 365 days of clean slate stretched out in front of you! Give yourself permission to get out of your comfort zone and explore all the exciting and original ways you can connect with your community. Neon Canvas would love to help you brainstorm ideas for increasing your brand awareness in 2019! We’ve got a great track record of successful campaigns, and we’re not afraid to throw the things that don’t work for our clients back to the drawing board until we get it right. With your vision and our experience, we can turn 2019 into your most engaging year yet.

Every January, we’re given the chance to start fresh and improve ourselves and our brands. Setting resolutions for your business in the coming year can motivate you and your team to set and reach higher goals, which can often result in big results. They’re also a great way to align your team around any new business objectives you want to implement without any confusion. We hope these tips will give you some ideas for resolutions you can make for your brand that will lead to increased awareness and loyalty, and better, more authentic engagement. We are looking forward to working with you over the coming months to make 2019 your brand’s best year ever!
